The Manchester City star was replaced after just 20 minutes at Wembley, with Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa brought on to replace him.
Substitute Endrick, who is set to join Real Madrid this summer, scored the winner late on as the Three Lions fell to their first defeat in two years.
With City fans forced to wait for an update on the right-back, England still have one more game left to play before the end of the current international break.
Gareth Southgate’s men face Belgium on Tuesday evening and the 53-year-old was quick to clear up the situation regarding Walker following the full-time whistle.
“We don’t know yet. He is feeling something but he is not a player who is injured very often so he’s not quite certain what it is.”
“So it is something we have to assess in the coming days”, said the English boss.
Pep Guardiola will, of course, be sweating over the defender’s fitness given a crucial game with Arsenal is to come on Sunday.
Mikel Arteta’s men currently lead the way in the Premier League table and Man City are forced to chase down a narrow margin of just one point heading into the contest.
Walker, who captained England initially, took to social media after the game to provide his disappointment on the matter.
“Frustrating to come off injured in last night’s game especially when captaining the side,” wrote Walker on Instagram.
“A truly great honour. Hopefully it’s nothing too serious and I’m back ASAP.”
With all eyes leading to this weekend’s clash, fellow England teammate Bukayo Saka departed the squad given the magnitude of Arsenal’s meeting with the reigning champions.
Phil Foden and John Stones both played the full 90 minutes in the capital and will no doubt hope to avoid the same fate suffered by Walker.
