Libya have appointed a new coach, Nasser Al-Hadiri, for next month’s 2025 AFCON qualifiers against the Super Eagles a week after firing their previous manager.
The decision to cut ties with Serbian international, who had led the team to nine victories before the start of the qualifiers is an indication of an urgency to improving their AFCON performances going forward.
Rumours of a new coach seems to be going around and it is believed Nasser Al-Hadiri will take on the mantle as they look to face the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a double-header next month.
The North African country were held to a 1-1 draw in Tripoli, before they lost to Benin 2-1 in Abidjan.
They remain bottom of Group D with a point after two rounds of matches while they take on the Super Eagles in Uyo on October 11, before welcoming the three-time African champions to Benina, four days later.
