Shocking Images of Super Eagles' Mistreatment in Libya Surface Online

Images of the Super Eagles’ mistreatment at Al Abaq airport in Libya are making waves online. The team traveled to Libya for the second leg of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers after a 1-0 win over Libya in Uyo last week.

Upon arrival, Libyan authorities held the Super Eagles at the airport, blocking their journey to the match venue.

The players and Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) officials have been stuck there for over 15 hours with no transport arranged.

The Nigerian squad was supposed to fly to Benghazi but was rerouted to Al Abaq, about two hours away.

Eyewitness Ojora Babatunde shared photos on X, showing how the Super Eagles spent their night in uncomfortable spots at the airport. Many players were seen trying to rest in cramped areas, while some officials struggled to find seats.

Currently, the players are still at the airport, with no Libyan representatives in sight to assist them. Reports suggest the team and NFF officials are thinking about forfeiting the match and heading back to Nigeria due to this ongoing situation.
