According to reports, Napoli’s head coach, Antonio Conte, has expressed an interest in a move to bring Ademola Lookman to Napoli as a replacement for wantaway winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The Georgian who was seen as “untouchable” in the summer by the Azzurris, is yet to pen a new deal at the club and has now opened the door to a possible exit in the summer.
The former Tottenham and Chelsea manager is a huge admirer of Lookman, in a direct replacement role to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia—if he ends up leaving—having scored twice for Atalanta against Napoli this season already.
Reports suggest Atalanta demands a fee in excess of €30 million for the 27 yo Nigerian, who is also keen to push for a move in the summer, having done the same last summer but desires couldn’t meet expectations.
With seven goals in ten league games so far, he’s proven his potential to a lot of European clubs, especially coming from an incredible run of form from last season.
Atalanta will therefore look to a future without Lookman in the coming months, as it seems the winger is resigned to leaving for a top club in the summer.
