As per Sport, Barcelona have completed the signing of an 18-year-old talent from Club Ferro Carril Oeste in Argentina for a total of €1.2m, managing to beat Argentine giants Boca Juniors and River Plate to his signature.
The young forward named Lucas Roman, who is also an Argentine youth international, has featured in 27 competitive matches for Club Ferro, scoring three goals. His rapid breakthrough made him one of the most sought-after Argentine youngsters.
Former Barcelona youth coach Oscar Hernandez Romero, formerly a coach with Mascherano at the under-20s, described it as a “good signing”.
“A winger or attacking midfielder, he is a very fast, skilful player who has a great shot from outside the area,” Hernandez concluded on Cadena SER (via Mundo Deportivo).
Roman is due to join up with Barca Atletic/ (Barca B) this January, in a bid to give manager Rafa Marquez more firepower.
As per the report, Roman is now taking the next step in his career by joining Barcelona who have apparently reached an agreement with Ferro over the sale of the young forward, said to be worth around €1.2 million.
