Bayern Munich Turn Attention to Arsenal Star Leandro Trossard as Luis Díaz Deal Stalls

Bayern Munich are weighing up a move for Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard after hitting a roadblock in their pursuit of Liverpool’s Luis Díaz.

The German champions reportedly submitted a €52 million bid for Díaz, but Liverpool have made it clear the Colombian is not for sale, unless an offer exceeding £80 million arrives.

With that valuation proving difficult to match, Bayern are now exploring alternative targets, and Trossard has emerged as a serious contender, according to Bild.

Trossard’s Arsenal Future in Doubt

The 30-year-old Belgian joined Arsenal from Brighton in January 2023 and has been a valuable squad player under Mikel Arteta, contributing goals and assists across multiple competitions.

However, he has not been a guaranteed starter, with Arteta preferring options like Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, and Kai Havertz in key matches.

Reports earlier this month linked Trossard to Fenerbahce, and some outlets claimed he had already agreed a deal in principle.

Adding to the speculation, Trossard recently changed agents, choosing German agent Dirk Hebel, which could ease a potential Bundesliga move.

Why Bayern Munich Want Trossard

Bayern are actively looking for a versatile winger to strengthen their attacking depth.

Trossard’s ability to play on either flank or as a false nine makes him an attractive, cost-effective option compared to Díaz.

With Kingsley Coman’s injury history and Leroy Sané’s uncertain future, the Belgian could be the perfect short-term reinforcement for the Bavarian giants.

What Next?

If Bayern abandon their Díaz pursuit, an official offer for Trossard could follow in the coming days.

With Arsenal planning further attacking changes this summer, the Belgian may be open to a new challenge—especially if game time at the Emirates becomes even more limited.

Will Trossard become Bayern’s surprise summer signing, or will Arteta convince him to stay?
