‘Victor Osimhen not for sale’ – Napoli President says

Victor Osimhen has proven to be arguably one of the best strikers in the world this season, and despite interest from Premier League clubs, Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has stated that the Nigerian international will not be sold this summer.

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has insisted that the Serie A leaders are not willing to sell Victor Osimhen, despite reports that Manchester United will make a summer bid for the forward.

Osimhen has played a key role in Napoli’s quest for their first league title since 1990, with Luciano Spalletti’s side currently 13 points clear of Inter Milan.

The Nigerian forward leads the Serie A scoring charts this season, with 16 goals in 17 league appearances.

The 24-year-old is expected to cost more than £100 million to any interested party and is a serious option for Manchester United this summer as they look to address their lack-of-options upfront.

In terms of the Nigeria striker’s future in Naples, Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has stated that Napoli will not sell Osimhen be sold this summer.

Speaking to BILD, the president of the Serie A club said via Fabrizio Romano: 

“I can tell you that Osimhen is not for sale”.

“Our players are in demand, but I don’t have to sell anyone. We don’t have any debts”.

Osimhen may not want to leave Napoli at the end of the season as they cruise to the Serie A title and will be a key player in the Champions League this season.

Osimhen joined Napoli from Lille in 2020 for a fee of £62.4 million and has scored 45 goals in 83 appearances. His contract expires in 2025, and no new contract negotiations are believed to have occurred.
