Brentford’s defensive line is dealt a severe blow as seasoned defender Ben Mee, faces the rest of the season on the sidelines due to an ankle fracture.
This unfortunate setback adds to the club’s woes as they already grapple with injuries to key defenders Rico Henry, Ethan Pinnock, and Aaron Hickey.
Manager Thomas Frank expressed the gravity of the situation, highlighting the absence of the entire back four from the previous season.
With a significant portion of his starting lineup sidelined, including Bryan Mbeumo, Kevin Schade, Bee Mee and Josh Dasilva, Frank acknowledged the challenges ahead.
Despite the setbacks, Frank remains optimistic, emphasizing the resilience and fighting spirit within the team.
Brentford, currently sitting 16th in the Premier League table with 25 points, faces a tough battle to avoid relegation, having lost their last three matches.
“I’m very optimistic. I’m a massive fighter and my players are massive fighters,” Frank said.
“When you are in a situation when things are going against you, you can only do one thing. Get tighter together… and fight. I can’t wait for tomorrow.”
