Tyrique George, a winger eligible for the Flying Eagles, was included in Chelsea’s matchday squad for the first time in his career as they demolished Everton 6-0 at Stamford Bridge on Monday evening.
Cole Palmer opened the scoring in the 13th minute, doubling the lead five minutes later, and giving Chelsea a three-goal cushion in the 29th minute, while Nicolas Jackson scored just before halftime, extending their lead.
Palmer scored again from the penalty spot in the 64th minute, and substitute Alfie Gilchrist netted the sixth goal of the night after a deflected shot from Ben Chilwell.
George, who has been in impressive form this season, with nineteen goals in all competitions for Chelsea’s youth teams, was handed his first senior team involvement by Mauricio Pochettino due to several senior players’ absence.
George’s goal-scoring prowess and knack for scoring spectacular goals have earned him nominations for Chelsea’s Goal of the Month five times this season, making his inclusion in the senior squad a highly anticipated moment.
