Hugo lloris out for the rest of the season due to thigh injury

Ryan Mason has confirmed Tottenham's captain, Hugo Lloris will be sidelined for the remainder of the season after sustaining a thigh injury.

Lloris has been absent from the team since being substituted at half-time during Tottenham’s 6-1 loss to Newcastle. With only one year left on his contract and an uncertain future, it remains to be seen whether Lloris will play for the club again.

“Hugo’s out for the season,” Spurs’ acting head coach Ryan Mason confirmed.

“We had the results back. Obviously disappointing, but we kind of feared that initially. We did some more tests and he won’t play for us again this season”.

“I can’t speak about next season but what I can say is that he has a very important role for us until the end of the season. We need him. We need him to be part of the group and I’m sure he will be.”

Injuries have plagued several Tottenham players, including  Emerson Royal, Ryan Sessegnon , Yves Bissouma, and Rodrigo Bentancur.

According to interim manager, Ryan Mason – Emerson and Bissouma are progressing well. However, Sessegnon’s season is over due to a hamstring injury while Bentancur will be out for a lengthy period due to damage to his anterior cruciate ligament.

Speaking about them he said:

“There are obviously some hurdles he has got to overcome and to hit some certain goals but we are hopeful he will appear before the end of the season”.

“Ryan had a significant injury, he’s been out for a long time so Ryan won’t feature again this season”.

“Emerson, I think it is a day-to-day check on how he is and how he’s coping. Hopefully Emerson can help us between now and end of the season.”

Spurs face a herculean task in order to play in next season’s Champions League as they sit seventh in the Premier League, nine points behind fourth-place Manchester United.
