Mounir Nasraoui, the father of Spain’s Euro 2024 star Lamine Yamal, was attacked and stabbed in a car park in Mataró on Wednesday evening.
The assault, which occurred in the Spanish town, left Nasraoui with serious injuries, according to reports from La Vanguardia.
Nasraoui, who is 35 years old, was swiftly rushed to the hospital following the incident. While initial reports suggested his condition was critical, Relevo has since confirmed that Nasraoui is now out of danger and recovering at home.
Just last month, Nasraoui witnessed his son, Lamine Yamal, make history as the youngest player to both appear and score in a European Championship. Yamal played a pivotal role in Spain’s Euro 2024 campaign, including scoring a crucial goal against France. Spain’s triumph over England in the final highlighted Yamal’s significant contributions to the team.
The incident has shocked fans and the football community, as the Yamal family was still celebrating their remarkable achievements on the European stage.
