The Merseyside Club have been long-time admirers of the talented midfielder and have monitored his progress over the past few years.
However, with a financial battle set to ensue between major European powerhouses for the England International’s services, Liverpool might be forced to opt for another midfielder according to The Athletic.
The 19-year-old is expected to move in the summer despite his contract with Borussia Dortmund running till 2025.
Manchester United are also interested in bringing Bellingham in, with coach Erik ten Hag considering him a “generational talent” and a “future captain”.
Liverpool have turned their attentions from the £110m ($132m) rated teenager to Chelsea FC’s Mason Mount. Mason Mount has struggled for minutes under new boss Graham Potter and negotiations for a new contract have hit a brick wall as he enters the final 18 months of his contract.
24-year-old Mount recently appointed Neil Fewings as his new agent as he seeks to move during the summer. The England International has also been linked with a move to Manchester United and Newcastle.
For now though, Jude Bellingham remains a Borussia Dortmund player as he seeks to help the Black and Yellow win their first Bundesliga title since the 2011/12 season.
