According to reports, Manchester City have entered the race to sign Bayern Munich wonderkid Jamal Musiala from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
The German international has over 90 appearances for Bayern so far in his career, registering 22 goals and 13 assists for the Bundesliga outfit. He currently has 15 goal contributions in 13 appearances this season.
As per Italian media outlet CalcioMercato, Pep Guardiola is interested in adding the 19-year-old midfielder to the club’s ranks next year, with the City boss keen to bolster his midfield alongside the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan.
An imminent departure from the German champions, however, appears to be unlikely after the club’s sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic had previously said the player was “not for sale”.
“It is important that Jamal plays for Bayern for a long time. Of course, he is not for sale. He’s an amazing boy, a German international.
“We need a guy like that. If I were to think about giving this boy away somehow, I’d be crazy. He will play for Bayern for a long time.” he had said in an interview, ahead of the final day of the summer transfer deadline.
In a window that saw German football raided for key talents with Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski and Borussia Dortmund frontman Erling Haaland departing to Barcelona and Manchester City respectively, questions about the young player’s future have been asked.
