The former Real Madrid player is set to start as captain in tonight’s fixture, according to reports.

Coming from a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Premier League Champions and sworn rivals Manchester City, the Red Devils will be hoping to avoid a defeat on the night as they aim to defend the Carabao Cup title.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has returned to first-team training, but this match is likely to come too soon for him.

Raphael Varane and Sergio Reguilon, were both on the bench against City and might potentially move into the starting lineup to improve the options at the back.

There will almost certainly be changes in the front areas, with Alejandro Garnacho and Antony potentially getting chances out wide, while Anthony Martial will aim to lead the line if Ten Hag decides to rest Rasmus Hojlund.
