Man Utd fans have had enough of one player after ‘garbage’ decision vs Crystal Palace

Manchester United have had enough of one of their star players after what he did against Crystal Palace.

On Monday evening United travelled down to London to take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, looking to keep alive their hopes of qualifying for Europe next season.

Champions League qualification is already out of the question for Erik ten Hag’s side, but United could still sneak into the Europa League if they catch up to fifth place Tottenham.

Things got off to the worst possible start though when Michael Olise danced through United’s back line and calmly slotted past Andre Onana to put the home side ahead.

The footwork and precision the winger showed just why a host of Premier League giants, including United, are keen to sign him this summer.

However, United’s defending was arguably as bad as Olise’s technique.

Olise found himself with oceans of space to run in to when United midfielder star Casemiro – playing in an unfamiliar centre-back role due to injuries – decided to charge out of the defensive line and dive into a challenge.

United’s other defenders backed off Olise after he had easily side-stepped Casemiro, affording him all the time in the world to advance to the edge of the box and pick his spot.

United paid £70 million to sign Casemiro from Real Madrid in 2022, but too many of his performances this season have been below par.

It’s fair to say that many United fans have had enough of him, in particular his decision-making and tendency to dive into challenges unecessarily.

“What is Casemiro doing?” one exasperated United fan asked on X,

with another fan replying, “What he’s been doing all season. Aimlessly diving in. Evans positioning was garbage too.”

One fan commented: “Can someone explain how it’s possible that world class players come to this club and turn to absolute S***?”

Another fan posted a still image of Casemiro’s attempted tackle, saying : “I’m crying, he [Olise] turned Casemiro into Naruto.”

Casemiro could be one of several top earners at United that are offloaded over the summer to make room for new additions. Some supporters had a suggestion for where he could go.

“Saudi please do something for me, take Casemiro and [Christian] Eriksen away,” one fan pleaded,

While another simply said: “Casemiro, it’s been a pleasure but it’s time to learn Arabic.”

Things went from bad to worse for United shortly before half-time when Jean-Philippe Mateta left Jonny Evans for dead and rifled past Onana to double Palace’s lead.
