Real Madrid are now completely focused on bringing up a replacement as they look set to be without club legend and Spanish right-back, Dani Carvajal in the coming season.
Dani has been an integral part of Los Blancos’ European and domestic success over the last decade; however, recurring injuries and a decline in form have made him less reliable in recent times.
The club has allegedly made a shortlist of young players from Europe’s top leagues who could fill the Spaniard’s shoes, but very few names have emerged as being available for release unless the player’s willingness to make the move to the Spanish capital.
Vinicius Tobias, an 18-year-old Brazilian currently playing for the Real Madrid Castilla team, on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk could be signed permanently in the coming months as the Los Blancos chiefs consider him a player of high prospects for the club.
Tobias is projected to become the ideal modern full-back, equally capable in attack and defence, and many fans would have expected to see him play for the first team by now. Real Madrid is willing to give him a chance before going all-in to sign him on a permanent basis.
Another young player the Laliga giants have had to look into is Bayer Leverkusen’s right-back, Jeremie Frimpong, who is also very young and versatile in his positional plays, he boasts of massive electric pace and has a lot more experience at the top level.
The Dutch wing back can also play at the left back and right midfield position, thus, making him a much important and improved player to Tobias. Frimpong is still young and his transfer fee could cost the Los Blancos up to €30 million should they require his services.
A report from Fichajes claims that Benjamin Pavard and Josco Gvardiol are some of the defensive options Real Madrid is also keeping tabs on from the Bundesliga.
Pavard, with proven quality in the German league and the international stage, can operate as a right-back as well as a central defender and his versatility could make him an indispensable asset for Carlo Ancelotti.
It will be interesting to see what the 27-year-old would bring to the team, while his age may be a factor in the La Liga champions finding an ideal setting or contract for him. The 2018 World Cup winner has 6 goals across all competitions this season and he has a contract until the summer of 2024 with the German outfit.
Chelsea and England right-back, Reece James has in the past months emerged as the club’s top target. The 23-year-old is very much liked at the Valdebebas, but Madrid knows that signing the player from the premier league club won’t be easy.
There is the believe that the big-spending West Londoners will be forced to offload a number of first-team talents at the end of the season to balance the books.
With James’ contract set to end in 2028, having renewed in September, Madrid will be looking to release a hefty sum to the premier league giants to consider a sale. Â
