It was Terem Moffi Time again in France after he banged home his seventh Ligue 1 goal today for OGC Nice. The forward was on target but his goal counted for nothing as OGC Nice surrendered a one-goal lead to lose 2-1 against Toulouse in a French Ligue 1 match at the Stadium Municipal on Sunday afternoon.
The Nigeria national teamer capitalized on a low cross delivered into the box by Guessand, which ricocheted off Toulouse goalkeeper Guillaume Restes, and calmly slotted the ball into an unguarded net in the 8th minute to open the scoring.
This is the fastest goal Moffi has scored in the Ligue 1 so far in the 2023-2024 campaign, beating his previous mark of 21 minutes when he opened the scoring in Nice’s 3-2 win at Paris Saint-Germain back in September.
The former Lorient man netted his fastest ever goal in the Ligue 1 in the fourth minute, against Angers SCO, in April 2023.
Two quick goals in the second half saw Toulouse claim all three points and condemned OGC Nice to their sixth defeat of the season in the Ligue 1.
Thijs Dalinga slammed home to bring the game back to parity in the 65th minute, before Yann Gboho netted what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 69th minute.
Moffi’s strike against Toulouse took his tally for the season to seven from twenty appearances in the French top-flight and it was his first goal in what was his first start since returning from Africa Cup of Nations duty.
After 24 games in the division, Nice are fifth in the standings with 40 points accumulated, two less than third placed Monaco.
