Following the 2-0 victory against CA Osasuna at the El Sadar stadium, Real Madrid will again hope to restart their UEFA Champions League campaign with another fine performance when they face Liverpool on Tuesday night.
The Los Blancos for one have been dealt with a series of recent injuries to the squad with Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos and Aurélien Tchouaméni missing training on Sunday and their participation in Tuesday’s match is far from guaranteed.
According to AS, Kroos is expected to be sidelined due to a stomach issue called “gastroenteritis”, Tchouameni caught the flu and as a result missed the midweek game against Elche, while Benzema is considered NOT completely fit since suffering a discomfort in the midweek game.
In the absence of the Ballon d’Or winner, Carlo Ancelotti will be looking to make additional adjustments to the starting eleven as Rodrygo could deputize upfront for the Frenchman.
Real Madrid will again miss out on Ferland Mendy as the left-back closes in on full recovery.
