Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo has revealed that he will soon make a final decision on his international future as speculation continues over whether he will represent Nigeria’s Super Eagles or another national team.
Speaking in an interview with ARISE NEWS, the 27-year-old centre-back admitted that the decision is a serious one that requires careful thought.
“It’s something I think about seriously. But hopefully, in the nearest future I’ll make a decision,” Adarabioyo explained.
“It’s been a topic for many years since I became a professional footballer. Everything comes into consideration – you have to look at it all and make the best decision.”
Adarabioyo is currently in Nigeria as part of his homecoming tour, and he was hosted by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu earlier this week. The Chelsea defender also attended a youth football tournament held in his honour at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, showing his continued connection to his roots.
Governor Sanwo-Olu praised the defender’s humility and achievements on Instagram, saying:
“Tosin Adarabioyo, who plays for Chelsea, stopped by to visit while he’s in Nigeria. It’s always inspiring to meet young Nigerians making their mark internationally, who remain grounded and stay connected to home.”
Adarabioyo, who recently helped Chelsea win the restructured FIFA Club World Cup in the US, has long been on the radar of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). His potential inclusion would bolster the Super Eagles’ defence as they continue their rebuild ahead of upcoming international tournaments.
The defender remains eligible for both England and Nigeria, and his decision is eagerly awaited by football fans from both nations.
