Zirkzee, a Dutch-Nigerian talent, has emerged as a candidate to reinforce AC Milan’s squad, with rumours linking him away from Bologna.
On the other hand, Boniface has showcased his prowess in the German Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen, catching the eye of the Milan-based club as a viable alternative
With Olivier Giroud set to depart AC Milan for Los Angeles Galaxy after four stellar years, the Rossoneri are on the lookout for an ideal replacement, with Zirkzee and Boniface topping their wishlist.
In the former Real Madrid manager’s assessment, the ex-Bayern Munich starlet emerges as the preferred choice to lead AC Milan’s frontline.
With two years of Serie A experience under his belt, the Dutch talent offers quality, physical strength, and familiarity with the league.
“If Milan is looking for brilliance, they should go for [Joshua] Zirkzee. He has quality, he’s strong physically, and he knows Serie A. He wouldn’t need to adapt.” Capello conveyed to La Gazzetta dello Sport via Milan Posts.
While both Boniface and Zirkzee hail from Nigerian roots and possess goal-scoring prowess, they differ slightly in their experiences and achievements.
This season Boniface has notched 11 goals and provided two assists for Leverkusen, showcasing his ability in the Europa League and clinching the Top Scorer award.
In contrast, Zirkzee boasts a comparable goal tally in Serie A with four assists for Bologna. However, his European experience pales in comparison to Boniface’s, indicating a difference in exposure and maturity on the continental stage.
