The former Real Madrid player has not remained silent after Pep Guardiola denied information insisting Erling Haaland’s contract with Manchester city includes an exit clause after two years, in 2024, with terms more favourable to join Real Madrid.
Earlier this week it had been communicated that Sanz asserted that the Manchester City striker has an exit clause that could see him join Los Blancos in 2024.
However, despite denials from the Manchester city manager, Fernando Sanz has reiterated what he said:
“It is up to Guardiola to say what he has said. The clause exists and the amount I still can’t say the amount”, he commented.
“I remember that when he was at Dortmund, people said there was no clause and Manchester City benefited from that and were able to sign him. The signing of Luis Figo comes to mind, who said it was all a lie in a newspaper and the next day he was at Madrid”, he added.
During the interview, he had recalled saying that, “Guardiola said, due to the pandemic crisis they could not make disbursements and months later they signed Haaland. Each one says what is convenient”, he said.
“I am not saying that they have exclusive priority. I am saying that, in this case, there is a clause with beneficial conditions to go to Madrid. He might go somewhere else if someone decides to pay 10 times more and he prefers to go elsewhere.”
