Mauricio Pochettino saw his team suffer a loss in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening owning to goals from midfielder Scott McTominay scored on either side of two halves.
The Blues boss revealed that he was not worried about the loss and said that the result came down to his side lacking the same energy compared to Manchester United.
The Argentine said his team were tired on after having to contend with Brighton on the weekend with only 10 men after captain Conor Gallagher was sent off.
In an honest assessment of the match, Pochettino admitted his side struggled to match the home side’s intensity and couldn’t have much complaint with the result on the night.
“I am disappointed because we didn’t start the game well,” he said.
“The feeling is that they started better than us, showing more energy than us. We couldn’t match the energy. I think they were better than us and there’s nothing I can say.”
‘We created enough chances to get something from the game. We drew the first half and at 1-1 had some good chances, and should have scored and been more clinical, that was the problem.”
“The second half we started well but then we conceded and again I think we missed a little bit the energy to be more aggressive. We had some chances but not enough to get back in the game again. But overall my feeling is that they were better than us and deserved the three points.”
