The NFF in talks to invite England-born Nigerian who plays for Chelsea

Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo has become a key talking point as the October International window approaches.

According to a report on OwnGoalNigeria, it is understood the International future of Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo looks to be settled following his decision to commit to Nigeria ahead of England where he was a junior international at several levels.

The report also states that the NFF, led by Eguavoen have been keen on getting the 27-year-old to commit to the Super Eagles for the past three years following his incredible Fulham stint which placed him in the eyes of many.

The Manchester City academy product is yet to play for England’s men’s team for nearly nine years now, with his last appearance for the Young Lions coming against Japan’s Youth team on November 15, 2015.

Adarabioyo, who joined Chelsea this summer on a free transfer from Fulham has played in their last two games and helped them to back-to-back clean-sheet wins against Bournemouth and West Ham respectively.

He remains an option and a great addition to the Super Eagles considering the preferred centre-back partnership of William Troost-Ekong and Semi Ajayi are not getting any younger.

Should he be invited, the England-born Nigerian will not have problems adapting to the team, given that he has played alongside some players of the current starting eleven in the past, namely Ola Aina, Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey and Ademola Lookman.
