Liverpool have completed the signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton in a deal worth an estimated £35 million with potential add-ons increasing the total value to £55 million.
The 24-year-old midfielder has agreed to a contract believed to span over five years, marking Liverpool’s first acquisition of the summer transfer window.
“It feels amazing. It’s a dream come true, it’s amazing to be here and I can’t wait to get started”. The midfielder told Liverpoolfc.com.
“I wanted to be in [from] the first day of pre-season, so it’s good that everything is done. I’m looking forward to meeting my teammates.
“It was a fantastic year for me – World Cup, what we achieved with Brighton – but now it’s time to think about Liverpool and try to be a better player and a better human being every day.
His arrival is likely to begin what looks set to be a busy summer at Anfield, with Jurgen Klopp looking to freshen up a side that missed out on Champions League qualification this season.
