Frenkie de Jong and Pedri both face injury setbacks, with the Dutch midfielder sustaining a sprained ankle and the Canary Islander experiencing a problem with his right thigh.
Tests have confirmed that Frenkie de Jong has a lateral ligament sprain in his right ankle, while Pedri has an injury to the rectus femoris muscle in his right thigh. Both players are currently unavailable for selection, with their recoveries determining their future availability.
De Jong suffered his ankle injury during the game against Athletic Club, forcing him to exit after 26 minutes. This marked his 26th appearance of the season, with the midfielder being a consistent starter for Barça and netting two goals.
On the other hand, Pedri was substituted right before halftime during the same match, with Lamine Yamal taking his place. This match was Pedri’s 24th appearance of the season, with 16 starts and two goals to his name.
