The Blues have added six players during the winter transfer window, with Joao Felix, Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke, Benoit Badiashile, Andrey Santos and David Datro Fofana joining the club. However, with the likes of Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, Malo Gusto and Alexis Mac Allister still linked to the London club, it is expected that Graham Potter’s team could still see a few additions in the next couple of days.
This has coincided with rumours about Kai Havertz leaving Chelsea to return to Germany. However, transfer expert Dean Jones has ruled out the possibility of this happening.
Speaking to Givemesport, Jones said:
“I don’t think Kai Havertz will leave Chelsea anytime soon at all. They love him. They think he’s a brilliant footballer; he is a brilliant footballer.
“I know that he probably gets a bit of a hard time because of his body language and his style of play, but that’s just how he is. It’s not that he’s languid or lazy or anything like that. That is just how Havertz plays football.”
Kai Havertz has five goals and one assist in 19 Premier League matches this season.
Chelsea have been linked with a move for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister and Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web reports that the Blues have submitted an official bid of €55million (£49million) which was rejected by the Seagulls.
Chelsea are also in the market for a right-back following Reece James’ struggles with fitness in recent times. Fabrizio Romano reports that Olympique Lyon right-back Malo Gusto could join the Blues. If this deal happens, then Lyon will consider bringing in Tariq Lamptey from Brighton as a replacement.
Romano said:
“Tariq Lamptey, one to watch in the final days of the transfer window.
“European clubs are informed on his situation as he could leave Brighton #BHAFC Olympique Lyon are among clubs now showing interest in Lamptey in case Malo Gusto leaves to join Chelsea.”
