Mohammed Salah’s slump could reignite Liverpool’s interest in Juventus forward

With the Reds still out of form, they turn their attentions again to Juventus winger Federico Chiesa.

Despite the addition of a couple of players in the previous transfer windows, Jurgen Klopp is still looking to bring in major reinforcements in the summer, having had Cody Gakpo, as the most recent major-signing to the first team.

Indeed the Reds are going through a purple patch with the club’s current dip in form partly due to the injuries to a number of first-team players as well as some individual form dip experienced throughout the squad.

Most noticeably is Mohammed Salah – PL joint-top scorer last season along with Spur’s Heung Min Son on 23 goals – who has failed to hit the heights he reached in the previous campaigns.

The Egyptian has scored only seven goals in the Premier League this term across 19 games, a significant decline for a player of his caliber.

Also surprisingly, the £350,000 per-week forward has only managed one shot in his last three league fixtures, against Brentford, Brighton and Chelsea and this has earned him criticism from a number of journalists and football fans across the globe.

According to a Calciomercatoweb report, Liverpool is one of several Premier League clubs interested in signing Juventus winger Federico Chiesa to help them deal with their current crisis.

The report claims Chiesa could be signed for around £53 million. The Reds are also rumored to be heavily linked with summer moves for the likes of Jude Bellingham and Enzo Fernandez as they look to rejuvenate the team.

Should these claims be true, Salah could allegedly be offloaded to Paris-saint Germain for around £70million who have been sniffling around Anfield monitoring his situation with the Reds.

Liverpool sit ninth in the Premier League 21 points adrift of league leaders Arsenal after just 19 games while enduring one of the most difficult campaign in recent times.
