Club Brugge have raised their asking price for Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika to €40 million as Turkish giants Fenerbahçe step up their pursuit.
According to Turkish outlet Fotomac, Fenerbahçe initially hoped to sign the 24-year-old for €30m, but the Belgian side have made it clear they will only sell for €40m, given his growing importance in midfield and the interest from multiple clubs.
Mourinho Wants Raphael Onyedika at Fenerbahçe
Fenerbahçe manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen to strengthen his midfield and sees Onyedika as a perfect fit for his tactical plans. The Nigerian has impressed with Club Brugge in the Belgian Pro League and the UEFA Champions League, including scoring against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Premier League Clubs Also Interested
Onyedika’s consistent performances have attracted West Ham United and Leeds United, but no formal offers have been made yet. Brugge believe they can trigger a bidding war, hence the higher valuation.
The Nigerian midfielder, who moved to Belgium from Danish side FC Midtjylland in 2022, still has two years left on his contract, giving Brugge a strong negotiating position.
