Fulham sign striker Raul Jimenez from Wolves

After spending five years at Wolves, Raul Jimenez has made a move to fellow Premier League club Fulham for a reported fee of approximately £5m.

Raul Jimenez has put pen to paper with The Cottagers on a contract that runs until the summer of 2025 – with an additional 12-month extension option at the club’s discretion, for a fee of approximately £5 million.

The Mexico International joined Wolves on loan from Benfica in 2018 and eventually made the move permanent following an impressive performance that season, scoring 17 goals which contributed to the team’s FA Cup semi-final appearance and seventh-place finish in the Premier League.

“It’s really important for me to arrive here,” the striker said on the club’s official website.

“I will try to do my best for the team, one of the most iconic teams in the Premier League.”

“I’m happy to be here and to play in this stadium, it’s a really good stadium, I like it here.”

“I’m going to give my best to keep scoring goals in the Premier League.”

During his first two seasons with Wolves, Jimenez scored a total of 44 goals, unfortunately, he suffered a fractured skull in a match against Arsenal in November 2020, which affected his goal-scoring form.

Since the injury, he has managed to score only six goals in the Premier League and had a goalless run in 15 league games last season.

With a year remaining on his Wolves contract, Raul Jimenez has now joined Fulham, reportedly serving as a direct replacement for Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has drawn interest from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal.
