The club has already made significant additions to their creative options by securing Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton for £35 million and Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig for £60 million.
However, recent developments including the potential departures of Jordan Henderson who completed his Al-Ettifaq medical and interest from Al-Ittihad and Bayern Munich in Fabinho have caused uncertainty and disrupted their plans. As a result, Liverpool is now actively searching for first-team midfield alternatives should these players leave the club.
Klopp confirmed that the transfer activity is ongoing, indicating that the club’s work in the transfer market is not yet complete.
“There are so many things to do” he said speaking on the club’s podcast
“The transfer window is open. If my day would have 28 hours at the moment it would not be a problem – I could fill them easily”
“With all the things you have to do left and right, my main focus and energy has to go into the training sessions then that’s what I do. Then either side of the sessions I can try to help with other stuff”.
“Still three-and-a-half weeks until the first game of the season. A few things have to happen before then, definitely, transfer market-wise as well”.
“That is clear now. And it will happen. New players have to come in. We will have a good team”.
“Seven-and-a-half years ago… I said that we have to change from doubters to believers”.
“I didn’t know [at] that time that this will kind of be a phrase of that period because we all change. So, I was not sure at that time and maybe I was a doubter in the beginning – but I became a massive believer”.
“But, of course, the last years, nearly winning the quadruple but not doing it actually, and then having the season we had, that can create some doubt, I know that”.
“Then people want to change – on one day they want to change the team on 12 positions and then the next day only one. And then we change and then it’s the wrong player, ‘No, no, not him’, and stuff like this”.
“What I would like to ask for: trust us”.
“We feel really responsible for what’s happening here and we will do absolutely everything to have a season, in the best possible understanding, we will never forget. That’s the plan”. Klopp asserts.
