Man City handed nightmare last 16 tie as Arsenal face tough Bundesliga test in a simulated draw

UEFA Champions League
The remaining 16 teams in the Champions League have been decided after the group stage came to a close.

Following the exits of Manchester United and Newcastle United from the Champions League, holders Manchester City and Arsenal are the only English sides left in the competition.

Heavyweights like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, and Leipzig will be hoping to dethrone Pep Guardiola’s side as they aim to defend their title this season.

With the next round of draws for the next stage of the competition set to take place on Monday, SportBible’s correspondent, Marcus Chan, reports that an AI-simulator was used to predict which teams will be put together.

The AI was programmed to place teams who finished top of their group in pot 1, while those who finished second were placed in pot 2. As seen below,

Pot 1– Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Real Sociedad, Manchester City, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid

Pot 2 – Copenhagen, PSV Eindhoven, Napoli, Inter Milan, RB Leipzig, Porto, Paris Saint Germain, Lazio

The draw simulator churned out some mouthwatering ties with reigning champions, City handed a nightmare tie against French giants PSG.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta’s Gunners face a potentially tough test against Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

European powerhouses Inter Milan and Barcelona were drawn to play each other whilst  Copenhagen will be up against Borussia Dortmund.
