Marcel Sabitzer wants to stay at Manchester United after loan ends

Bayern Munich Marcel Sabitzer has been temporarily playing for Manchester United since the winter transfer window and has participated in 12 matches across various competitions for the club.

However, Manchester United do not retain the choice to keep the 29-year-old midfielder permanently after the season ends.

The midfielder is reportedly open to the idea of joining Manchester United permanently, while other Premier League clubs have also expressed interest in him.

“I have found my place here. I know the Premier League now and can say: There is nothing better, more intense and tougher,” he said.

“Obviously my thoughts on United – especially looking at how things are going, the confidence I get from Erik ten Hag – are very positive. But I don’t have to decide it alone.”

“I’ll be a Bayern player again from July 1st, 2023, that’s what the contract says. I’m not stuck in any direction.”

Although he has declined to comment on his future team, the Austrian footballer has emphasized that he is enjoying his time in the Premier League.

Manchester United brought in Sabitzer as a replacement for Christian Eriksen who was sidelined due to an injury in January. Eriksen has since recovered and played in his team’s recent 2-0 victory over Everton.

Given that both Eriksen and Casemiro are now fit to play, it remains uncertain if Sabitzer will continue to receive significant playing time for Manchester United during the remainder of the season.
