Despite scoring two goals in his first two games for Napoli since returning from AFCON, Osimhen is yet to claim a win with the Partenopei.

In an electrifying Serie A encounter at Cagliari, the hosts staged a dramatic comeback to secure a 1-1 draw against Napoli, thanks to a last-gasp goal from Zito Luvumbo.

Despite Victor Osimhen’s earlier effort that seemed set to earn Napoli all three points, Cagliari’s resilience paid off, ensuring a share of the spoils.

The match at Cagliari began with a cautious first half, where both teams struggled to create significant opportunities until the 65th minute, when Victor Osimhen’s header broke the deadlock.

The goal appeared to set Napoli on course for a much-needed victory as they sought to climb the Serie A standings.

However, Cagliari, who are battling relegation and sitting in 19th place displayed remarkable tenacity. Their persistence was rewarded in the dying moments of the match when Zito Luvumbo’s goal snatched a vital point for the home side.

This result marks a challenging start for Napoli’s new manager, Francesco Calzona, who has seen his team drawn both of his opening fixtures, including a midweek Champions League tie against Barcelona.

With Napoli now sitting ninth with 37 points, and Cagliari securing a crucial point to reach 20, both teams will be looking to build on this performance in their upcoming fixtures.
