Tottenham Hotspur are to sell Pierre-Emile Hojberg amidst interest from Atletico Madrid and other clubs. Although the Denmark international still has two years remaining on his contract, he is hesitant about committing to a new deal and extending his stay in north London.

In a recent transfer window priority, Spurs secured the signing of James Maddison from Leicester City for £45 million. This addition has sparked further potential moves, with Tottenham’s new manager Ange Postecoglou eyeing Maddison’s teammate Harvey Barnes as a potential target.

Tottenham’s summer transfer activity includes the acquisition of goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and a permanent deal for Dejan Kulusevski, who was on loan from Juventus. Maddison’s arrival marks the third major signing for the club during this period.

If Hojbjerg were to leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it would mark the end of an impressive three-year tenure at the Premier League club. He joined from Southampton in 2020. Throughout his time at Spurs, Hojbjerg made 145 appearances across all competitions and thrived under various managers.

However, there are concerns about how well the midfielder fits into the style of play that Postecoglou aims to implement at the club, emphasizing a more fluid and attacking approach. This concern could potentially seal Hojbjerg’s departure.

Apart from Atletico Madrid, Hojbjerg has also been linked to several other Premier League rivals, including Bayern Munich. However, Bayern’s primary focus appears to be on persuading Hojbjerg’s teammate, Harry Kane, to join them in Bavaria. Reports suggest that Thomas Tuchel’s team has made a £60 million offer for the prolific number nine. Tottenham  hierarchy remains steadfast in their stance that the England captain will not be sold during this summer’s transfer window.
