Zlatan Ibrahimovic to leave AC Milan at the end of the season

Sources suggest that Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the legendary AC Milan striker, will be leaving the club at the end of the current season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Swedish football star, is set to leave AC Milan at the end of this season, as the club has reportedly decided not to extend his contract, according to Foot Mercato.

The news will bring an end to the 41-year-old’s second spell with the Italian giants, which lasted for four years, during which he scored 37 goals in 78 games.

The 41-year-old has had two successful stints at Milan, the first one between 2010-2012 and the second one starting in 2019.

Despite his age, Ibrahimovic has remained a key player for Milan and has been a driving force behind the club’s recent successes, helping Milan qualify for the Champions League last season after a seven-year absence.

However, Zlatan’s contract with Milan is set to expire this summer and he’s expected to move on given the club’s financial struggles. The striker’s departure from Milan will mark the end of an era for the club.

His leadership, skill, and experience have been invaluable to Milan and he will be sorely missed by the club and its supporters.

The news of Ibrahimovic’s departure comes as a blow to Milan, which is also facing the possibility of losing other key players due to financial constraints and the club’s current pressure to reduce its wage bill and balance its books.

As per the report, Italian side Monza are interested in securing the striker’s services if he decides to continue his career.

Although the Swedish international has not yet revealed his future plans, it is speculated that he might retire or join another club in Europe or elsewhere.
