Manchester City are close to securing the signature of Belgian winger Jeremy Doku from Rennes, to add to their treble-winning squad. The player is expected to undergo his medicals with the Premier League club and afterwards sign a contract for five years.
Doku, who scored six goals in the previous season and even found the net on this campaign’s opening day, caught the eye of Pep Guardiola due to his direct style of play and his ability to take on defenders one-on-one.
This acquisition marks City’s third signing this summer, joining Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol.
As Kevin De Bruyne faces a minimum three-month absence due to injury, Guardiola maintains his interest in recruiting another midfielder.
While City had previously secured an arrangement with West Ham for Lucas Paqueta, the club’s decision to proceed with the transfer remains uncertain.

Following the medicals, the Belgian talent is set to be given the vacant number 11, worn last by Oleksandr Zinchenko before leaving for Arsenal last summer.
