AC Milan handed injury boost as Theo Hernandez returns to training

After a recent period of being sidelined, Milan full-back Theo Hernandez is scheduled to return to duty in the Rossoneri's upcoming match against Juventus in Matchweek 9 of the Serie A.

As reported by Tuttosport (via MilanNews), The Frenchman who has been absent since sustaining a muscle issue has returned back to training and was seen training with the entire squad ahead of the Rossonerri’s preparations for their next league fixture against Juventus.

His return will seem like a breath of fresh air for Pioli, given his qualities and the tactical importance he provides the squad with especially after the defeat to Chelsea in the Champions League.

Milan will be looking to pick off where they left off from the victory earned at the Stadio comunale Carlo Castellani, which saw them move closer to the top of the log, leaving a three-point difference between leaders Napoli.

Due to a strain that was suffered within his side’s 2-1 defeat to Napoli prior to the international break, the French international was unable to take part in Milan’s recent outings against Empoli and Premier League outfits Chelsea.

So far this season, Theo Hernandez has played a vital role in the left-back position as he has amassed one goal and two assists in nine appearances across all competitions.

The Frenchman has proven to be pivotal in Milan’s build-up within the attacking phase along the flanks.

Pioli hopes that the defender can quickly return to the squad fully match fit in order to provide the necessary reinforcements and depth within the back-line, allowing the Rossoneri to maintain themselves on the road to defending their Serie A title.
