AC Milan receives timely boost, with Rafael Leao declared fit to play vs Inter Milan

AC Milan coach, Stefano Pioli confirms boost for Milan after star forward’s adductor injury.

Milan forward, Rafael Leao has been confirmed fit to play arch-rivals Inter Milan on Wednesday when the two sides face off in the Champions League.

The Portuguese international missed the last two games for the club since sustaining a thigh injury against Lazio in the Serie A in which he was forced to leave the pitch 12 minutes into the game.

AC Milan coach, Stefano Pioli has now revealed the player will return in the second leg of their semi-final match against Inter Milan.

“Rafa is fine,” he confirmed to reporters.

“He did nearly all the training session yesterday, today we hope he completes it.”

The Rossoneri are two goals down in the tie ahead of Tuesday’s game having been comfortably beaten by their rivals last week.

Pioli’s men will be looking to pull an incredible performance to seal a comeback on Tuesday night if they seek to reach their first Champions League final since 2007.

While the presence of Leao comes as a necessary boost to their forward line, they would need work from all areas of the pitch to advance.
