The list below is not exclusive to double gameweek players alone.

Erling Haaland (£12.2, 85.4% TSB, FWD) VS AVL(H), ARS(A):

With seven double-digit returns, 171 total points so far this season and two matches in gameweek 23, Erling Braut Haaland is expected to exceed the 200% Effective Ownership (EO) mark. The Norwegian striker is by far the most-owned FPL asset currently with 85% of the game owning him and is expected to be the most-capped player going into 23. In fact, many who have kept their Triple Captain chip until now will consider handing it to the 22-year-old with their home match against Villa particularly attractive.

Eddie Nketiah (£6.8, 9.6% TSB, FWD) VS BRE(H), MCI(H):

Since the restart, Eddie Nketiah has been one of the best FPL assets and one of Arsenal’s best players. Despite the threat of a near-fit Gabriel Jesus, Nketiah should still get the starts in gameweek 23 and could benefit from the home games like he did in gameweek 21 (13 points vs Manchester United). His ownership at just 9.6% is expected to skyrocket before the deadline. The fact that his underlying numbers are a notch above Saka, Martinelli and Odegaard’s says a lot about his progress over the past couple of weeks.

Harry Kane (£11.7, 37.0% TSB, FWD) VS LEI(A):

With 18 goals and four assists in 15 league games against Leicester City, Harry Kane faces one of his favourite opponents this week. The England international recently became Spurs’ highest goalscorer of all-time with his goal against Manchester City on Sunday taking him to 267 goals. The 29-year-old faces relegation-threatened Leicester City and could tangibly increase his 148 total FPL points. It is worth noting that Kane has been one of the most-consistent FPL assets this season, returning in all but five games in the league so far.

Bukayo Saka (£8.3, 27.4% TSB, MID) VS BRE(H), MCI(H):

Bukayo Sako has returned in four of his six league appearances since the restart. The 21-year-old has delivered 111 FPL points so far this season and plays Brentford and Manchester City at home in gameweek 23. Saka’s appeal also increases becuase of the fact that he has been Arsenal’s number one penalty taker. In addition to this, his creativity and ability to get a goal out of nothing makes him a very interesting asset to own for the doubles and beyond. In fact, a few bold FPL managers might be willing to hand him the armband this week as a differential to Haaland.

Riyad Mahrez (£7.7, 9.8% TSB, MID) VS AVL(H), ARS(A):

Riyad Mahrez has become one Manchester City’s most-reliable assets in recent times and has started all their league games since the restart. The Algerian has returned in five of his seven league matches since GW17, reaching a personal season-high of 19 points in double gameweek 20. Mahrez is arguably less of a minutes risk than Kevin de Bruyne, with the Belgian missing crucial games lately due to tactical reasons. If you are looking for a second Manchester City attacking asset (besides Haaland), Mahrez is the standout option.
